Let it be light

There is nothing like beautiful lighting to create a wonderful atmosphere at night. Here is a selection of some of my favourites pieces guaranteed to make a statement in any room...

Marcel Wanders Zeppelin light (Flos)

His cocoon pendant light looks like it is covered in cob-web, quirky yet incredibly stylish.
H: 74 cm x W: 110 cm

Marcel Wanders Skygarden lamp (Flos)
An instant classic! Marcel Wanders found inspiration in his antique decorated plaster ceiling in the Neitherlands, this beautiful pendant light is available in Gloss black, gloss white, gold and rust (I love it!)

One cool lamp for the kids...

Mooi horse lamp
Only a generously proportioned room can take this this life-sized horse but what a statement! The Horse lamp is one of a three piece collection of animal furniture designed by Front which also includes a Rabbit Lamp and a Pig table. Iconic piece of lighting!

I could go on forever - more on lights another time!

Beautiful Felt

Felt has been around in interiors for a while from sofas to rugs and cushions, here is a pick of some stunning pieces:

Lola footstool by Ann Kyro Quinn Design

I came across this fabulous felt footstool whilst researching soft seating for a fashion designer interior and I absolutely love it. It was featured in Living etc a while ago and exists in a range of patterns and colours, see below.

Another stunning colour/design - this one was featured in Carrie Bradshaw's appartment in Sex and the City!

Stella felt rug by Michelle Mason
Could not resist adding the Stella felt rug by Michelle Mason which has been seen in Living etc, Elle Decoration, Grazia, Sunday Times Style Magazine etc...Made from 100% wool, a pure work of art.  Her design is a contemporary take on lace-making. Available in cream, black and sky blue

Cushlab cushions
These got me really really excited! Every one of these pieces designed by Rebecca Barton is beautiful and unique.

Since finishing an M.A in Fashion at St Martins Rebecca Barton, the founder of cushlab has been been working as a designer and maker. A finalist in prestigious design awards such as the Jerwood Prize, she made the transition over to cushions in 2008.

The ethos behind the company is to produce statement, design led cushions that rely on craft rather than mass-production. Every cushion is made to order, including colour and scale changes. New cushions are added throughout the year, themes are often based on natural motif, such as flowers and woodgrain, texture is of paramount importance, as is colour and quality.

Cushlab strives to be an ethical manufacturer, all cushions are made in-house in a small studio in rural Kent, and all fabric suppliers are based in England.
Each cushion is made to order in a range of natural fibres such as wool felt, cotton, linen and silk, and all off-cuts are used as swatches or donated to school projects so there is no wastage. Simply stunning, see for yourself:
